Announcing the Relentless Optimism Super Bowl Fundraising Contest!

This contest is now closed - thanks for entering!  See you after the game!

The results are now in!  Congratulations Cliff!

It's time for our second Relentless Optimism Fundraising contest of 2010: The Super Bowl Contest

After a long and grueling regular season followed by an exciting post season, the teams have finally been set for Super Bowl XLIV!  On Sunday, February 7th at 6:25pm the New Orleans Saints will take on the Indianapolis Colts for Super Bowl Supremacy!

New Orleans Saints vs. Indianapolis Colts
Super Bowl XLIV
February 7th, 2010

In order to help with our fundraising efforts for the Breast Cancer 3 Day, Melissa C. and I are going to be running a contest to see who of our friends, family and supporters can best predict the outcome of the Super Bowl.  As in our Golden Globes Prediction Contest, we are requesting a small donation to our team to enter this contest.  At the end of the game, whoever has made the most correct predictions about the outcome of the game will win a cash prize equal to half the money collected for the contest, with the rest of the money going to our Breast Cancer 3 Day team.  It's like a 50/50 raffle, but more fun!

So here's how this is going to work for the Super Bowl Contest.  If you would like to enter our contest, please send me your best predictions to the following questions about the Super Bowl:

1.  Which team will score first?
2.  During what minute will the first score take place?  (For those who don't know, football is played in four 15 minute quarters,)
3.  How many points will the Saints have at the end of the first quarter?
4.  How many points will the Colts have at the end of the first quarter?
5.  Who will be in the lead at half time?
6.  How many points ahead will the winning team be at half time?
7.  How many points will the Saints have at the end of the third quarter?
8.  How many points will the Colts have at the end of the third quarter?
9.  Who will win Super Bowl 44?
10.  How many points will the winning team win by?

You can send me your answers in one of two ways.  You can email me (Kristen) at kscincotta@gmail.com or you can leave your answers in the comments on this post.  Either way is fine by me.  Then, using the handy Paypal Donation Button on the top right hand side of this page, please make a $10 donation to our fundraising efforts for the Breast Cancer 3 Day.  And it's as simple as that!  All entries that are received by 8pm on Friday, February 5th will be eligible to win.  You can enter as many times as you want, as long as each entry is accompanied by a $10 donation to our Breast Cancer 3 Day team.  And please, help us spread the word!  As with any 50/50 style contest, the more people that enter, the larger the cash prize!

In addition, you can now enter our contest online using this link:

Enter the Relentless Optimism Super Bowl Contest!

Just click through to the survey to submit your answers online.  At the end of the survey, you will be redirected back here so you can make your donation via the Paypal button.

The winner will be notified on Monday, February 8th and results will be posted here shortly thereafter.  In the event of a tie, a name will be drawn out of a hat to determine the winner of the cash prize.  If anyone on Relentless Optimism should win, the full value of the money collected for the contest will be donated to our team.

For more information about the Breast Cancer 3 Day, please visit the official website at www.the3day.org.  The links to our individual fundraising pages can be found on the right hand side bar if you'd prefer to make a donation to us individually.  And finally, all of the latest news and information about the Super Bowl can be found on the official NFL website.

Thanks for playing along!  See you on Super Bowl Sunday - I'll be the one with the 7-layer dip!
